Welcome to my campaign for more open and orderly government.
Almost 35 years ago, I settled in South Orange with my wife, Barbara, and son, Mark, because the town was such an exceptional place to live. Young families of diverse backgrounds still move to our town to take advantage of all it has to offer.
Like the rest of you, though, we are distressed when the town gives tenure to the Village Administrator, and embarrassed at what we see as we walk along parts of South Orange Avenue. The next Board of Trustees must deal promptly with these problems, and also with the style of governing that created them.

Former Candidate for Trustee, David Belasco

To assure our continuing success, we must rethink the way we conduct our public business. After attending meetings and observing our village government over the past few years, it is clear to me that a more open and orderly government is needed.
Easier access to information, broader public input, and more open and thorough debate of the issues facing us, will have a real effect on our daily lives. Schools, public safety, the environment, recreation and economic redevelopment all will benefit.
I am a truly independent candidate, and want to represent you, not the town administration or town special interests. Please give me your vote on Tuesday.
Please also consider voting for another independent candidate, Jeff DuBowy.

I also want to be your advocate in Village Hall, so please e-mail me at votebelasco@aol.com with your ideas for improving our town.
